Getting
There
 |
Miyajima is only
accessible by ferry but one can easily reach the two ports servicing the
island by train, or car. The port is only a short distance from 2
exits off the Sanyo Expressway and about a 25 minute local train ride from
Hiroshima station on a local line. There is also a street line
servicing the main ferry port. If you choose to arrive by air there
are airports, one international and one domestic that you can use to get
in the general vicinity of Miyajima to which you would use either a taxi
or bus to get you to Hiroshima station from where you will take a train
directly to the ferry port servicing the island.

We'll be staying at
Tsutsumigaura Natural Recreation Area located on the northern end of the
island. Once on Miyajima you can either get there by local bus
(actually a large van) taxi or walk (it is exactly 3.1km to the cabins
where we'll be staying)

Airplane
If arriving by plane at Hiroshima Airport (not
Nishi Hiroshima) exit
the terminal and head to bus stop 2 from there you will catch the Airport
Limousine to Hiroshima station where you catch a
local train to the ferry port to the
island. The bus ride will take about 50 minutes and it cost \1300

Shinkasen
|
Upon arriving at
Hiroshima station exit the Shinkasen section to the right heading towards
the local lines the trains heading towards Miyajimaguchi are usually
departing from track 1. |

It will take about
5-7 minutes to walk to there. Refer to the
Local Train schedule |
Car
|
If arriving by car,
take the Sanyo Expressway to either the Ono IC if coming from the South or
Hatsugaichi IC if coming from the North. There will be signs
indicating the exit of the highway. |

It is recommended
that you bring your car over on the ferry as to park it over the weekend
during the event would prove to be more costly than the rather expensive
ferry cost. Refer to the map links below to get there from either IC. You
will have to zoom in to see the route. You can drive your car all the way
to Camp (a blue line is drawn on the map) |
